LEARNING OUTCOME 4 FOR ENG 110:
Be able to critique their own and others’ work by emphasizing global revision early in the writing process and local revision in the later process.
Going into peer editing, I wanted to try to focus on the positives of my classmates papers instead of the negative. I want to focus on how they might be able to improve and what is working well. Like seen in the paper above, I like to markup the text really well with comments on global edits and small grammar mistakes with local edits. I think I have always done a good job giving lots of comments and tips but I think I have improved upon the content and helpfulness of my comments over this past semester. After we do peer review we usually come back together with my classmates and talk about each others papers. I really enjoyed doing this because I think having a conversation with three other people helps you see more perspectives and allow more diverse dialogue to be shared. When talking about each others papers nobody insulted each other or got offended because we all wanted to work towards helping each others writing get better in a constructive way.
